Zirconia ceramics is an inorganic non-metallic material sintered at high temperatures, with high melting and boiling points, high hardness, insulator at room temperature, while at high temperatures it is electrically conductive, high toughness, high bending strength and high abrasion resistance, excellent thermal insulation properties, the coefficient of thermal expansion is close to that of steel and other advantages. Because of the zirconia ceramic top comb has high hardness, high strength, brittle characteristics, so it also belongs to the difficult to process materials, and zirconia ceramics have size and surface accuracy requirements, if the sintering shrinkage is large, can not guarantee the accuracy of the size of the ceramic body after sintering, usually in the zirconia ceramics top comb need to be processed again using CNC machine tools. Currently commonly used zirconia ceramic top comb processing equipment are: grinding machine, ceramic CNC machine tools, these two machine tools need to be more professional master to complete!
Zirconia ceramic top combs are machined with attention to machining accuracy and chipping. Generally, the teeth are first machined on a grinding machine, and then the holes or threads on the top comb are machined on a CNC machine specialised in ceramics. Depending on the size and number of teeth, the machining time varies considerably. Zirconia ceramic top combs have low electrical conductivity and high chemical stability. Therefore, these characteristics of the ceramic material must be taken into account in the subsequent processing of the ceramic top comb, and finishing of the ceramic by electrical processing or chemical etching is generally not possible.
